About this trip
Day one is the drive from Kutaisi up to Mestia in Svaneti. It is a long and beautiful road, and in winter we send a car suited to the road and the season. Day two is for Hatsvali, the small ski area just above Mestia, reached by road or by cable car, with Mount Ushba in view on a clear day. It is modest in size; Tetnuldi, nearby, is the bigger resort. Ski passes, the cable car and equipment hire are paid separately, on the spot. The drive back to Kutaisi comes the same day, so plan on a morning of skiing rather than a full day. There are around twelve hours of driving over the two days. Accommodation in Mestia is not included; you book and pay for it yourself.
