Ski resorts in Georgia
Georgia's ski resorts each suit a different trip. Gudauri, on the Georgian Military Highway, is the biggest ski resort and the closest to Tbilisi, with long open runs high above the tree line. Bakuriani, in pine forest above Borjomi, is lower and gentler: the choice for families and beginners. Goderdzi, near the pass in mountain Adjara, gets heavy snow and draws freeriders from Batumi. Hatsvali, just above Mestia in Svaneti, is a small area with Mount Ushba in view, and Tetnuldi, nearby, is bigger.
The season runs roughly from December to April, depending on the snow.
Most people book a transfer to the resort and back: from Tbilisi or Tbilisi airport to Gudauri or Bakuriani, from Kutaisi airport to Bakuriani or Mestia, and from Batumi to Goderdzi. Stops on the way are free; you pay only for any extra distance. If you are staying in the city, there are ski days from Tbilisi to Gudauri and Bakuriani and from Batumi to Goderdzi, and your driver waits while you ski.
Mountain roads are slow in winter, and in heavy snow a pass road can close at short notice. If that happens, we move the trip or refund it. We send a car suited to the road and the season. Tell us about skis or a snowboard when you book. Before you book, you see your driver, the car and one fixed price for the whole car.

Questions
- Which ski resort is closest to Tbilisi?
- Gudauri, up the Georgian Military Highway. Bakuriani, above Borjomi, is the other resort you can do as a day trip from Tbilisi. Each card on this page shows the current drive time.
- Can I go straight from the airport to the resort?
- Yes. There are transfers from Tbilisi airport to Gudauri and Bakuriani, from Kutaisi airport to Bakuriani, Gudauri and Mestia, and from Batumi airport to Goderdzi. Give your flight number when you book: your driver checks the landing time, and a late flight is never a no-show.
- Do I need a 4x4 in winter?
- You don't have to choose one: we send a car suited to the road and the season. The roads up to Gudauri, Goderdzi and Mestia can close at short notice in heavy snow, and if yours does, we move the trip or refund it.
- Will our skis fit in the car?
- Enter your luggage when you search, and we only offer cars with enough room. Mention skis or snowboards when you book, so the driver knows what to expect.
- Are ski passes and equipment hire included?
- No. Ski passes, equipment hire and cable cars are paid separately, on the spot. The price covers the car, the driver and the drive.
- Will the driver wait while we ski?
- On a ski day trip, yes: the driver waits at the resort and drives you back. For a stay of several days, book a transfer each way.
